First edition, first printing. Signed by the author. Original grey cloth lettered in white to the spine, in the dustwrapper with Terry O'Neill's photographic portrait of Townshend to the front panel. Full colour photographic endpapers. A very near fine copy, the binding square and firm, the contents clean throughout. Lightly pushed to spine tips. In the dustwrapper, very near fine with a few light surface marks to the matte laminate finish. Complete with the Hatchards 'Signed Copy' wraparound band. Not price-clipped (£20 to the front flap).

Signed by Pete Townshend in black ink to the title page. Described on the jacket as "the most eagerly awaited music memoir of the century", Townshend's autobiography centres on his remarkable career as songwriter and lead guitarist of The Who, but also covers his difficult childhood and later years aas a solo artist.
