First edition. Signed by the author. Publisher's pictorial paper covered boards with a navy cloth spine. Illustrated on every page with fluid, lively colour illustrations that are characteristic of the era. A very good copy, the binding firm, with some wear to the extremities and faint spotting to the boards. The contents with a few light fingermarks to the margins and slight offsetting to a few pages, are otherwise clean throughout.

Signed by the author in blue ink at the top of the front pastedown, scarce thus. An attractive picture book that shows the influence that the dynamism of early 20th century animated cartoons had on book illustration. The author-artist Peter Thornhill was also a naval officer.
