First UK edition, first printing. Publisher's original orange cloth with black titles to the spine, in the Guy Nicholls illustrated dustwrapper. A very good copy, the binding square and firm with some bumping to the spine tips. The cloth is bright and fresh, the extreme tips of the spine dust marked. The contents, heavily toned to the prelims and with a previous owner's name and date in ink to the front endpaper are otherwise clean throughout. Complete with the lightly rubbed, nicked and creased dustwrapper that is again heavily toned, with the illustrators name at the top of the front panel crossed out and with a tiny chip at the head of the spine. Not price-clipped (11s. 6d. on the front flap).
