First edition. Paper covers, sewn binding. Ownership inscription of the author's son, David Leach, to the inside of the cover and a couple of pencil annotations to one page. A good copy, some toning and marking to covers, a little wear at edges, and some minor marks to the first and last page, otherwise internally clean. Overall a nice example. Also included is a leaflet for Leach's 1927 ceramics exhibitions in St. Ives. This has a little toning and marking, and a couple of old minor folds, but is otherwise in very good condition.
An important and scarce early text by the father of British studio pottery, outlining the ideals and methods of his work. A nice association copy, and including a rare leaflet declaring the social purpose of his craft. Only two in COPAC (BL and V&A).
