BORSTAL BOY

First edition, first printing. Publisher's original purple cloth with gilt titles to the spine, in the B. S. 'Val' Biro illustrated dustwrapper. A very good copy, the binding square and firm, the extremities a touch rubbed and the top corners lightly bumped. The cloth remains bright and fresh. The contents, with a small nick to the blank fore-edge of the final two leaves are otherwise clean throughout and without inscriptions or stamps. The closed text block edge has a few faint water marks. Complete with the lightly rubbed, nicked and creased dustwrapper that is a little toned to the spine and without loss. Not price-clipped (16s net to the front flap).

An autobiographical novel recalling the three years that Behan spent in a borstal youth prison following his involvement with the IRA.
