THE ANATOMY OF THE HUMAN HEAD AND NECK, Graphically Illustrated by Means of Superimposed Plates.

First edition. Publisher's original illustrated card covers with red cloth spine. Illustrated with a chromolithographic model of a male human head with anatomical overlays on moveable flaps. A very good copy, the binding secure and the covers bright with a neat contemporary ink annotation to the top left corner of the upper board and a little rubbing and bumping to the extremities. The contents with a contemporary previous owner's inscription in ink to the inside of the upper board and a little toning and spotting to the preliminary pages are otherwise in good order. The colour anatomical model remains in excellent condition, the colours bright and with no tears or repairs. An unusually attractive example of a fragile production.

A rather fun late Victorian anatomical model of gentleman's head, with each flap lifting to reveal another section of its inner workings. Visually pleasing and uncommon.
