First Long Barn edition. Signed by the author. Original orange cloth with gilt titles to the spine and a gilt illustration to the upper board, housed in a brown card slipcase. Illustrated throughout with black and white wood engravings by John Lawrence. A very good or better copy, the binding square and firm, the upper board with two small indentations. The contents are clean throughout and without previous owners' stamps or inscriptions. The slipcase has a few small abrasions and indentations.

Signed by Susan Hill on the half title. An account of the changing seasons in an Oxfordshire country village, first published in 1982 and here re-issued by the author's own publishing company.
