THE MAN WHO SAVED AUSTRIA The Life and Times of Baron Jella i

First edition. Publisher's original maroon cloth with gilt titles to the upper board and spine. Illustrated with 18 black and white plates and a folding map at the rear. A very good copy, the binding square and firm with just a little wear to the extremities, a small nick to the right of the head of the spine, and a little marking to the boards. The contents with minor foxing to the prelims and occasional foxing to page edges, are otherwise clean throughout.

An account of Jella i 's role in the 1848 Hungarian Revolution and the independence of Croatia. Today, Jella i still stands as a central figure in Croatian history.
