Inscribed by the author in black ink on the front endpaper "with love and gratitude to / Mary and Ann; / all but one of these stories / having been written in their house / Robert / Robert Aickman / September 1977". A collection of seven supernatural weird tales. The recipients were close friends and neighbours of the author and the future dedicatees of his 1975 story collection 'Cold Hand In Mine'.
