First edition, first printing. Inscribed by the author. Original light green cloth with titles in dark green to the spine and upper board, in dustwrapper. A very good copy, the binding square and firm, the edges of the board a little toned, the bottom corners slightly bumped. The contents, with the bookplate of Swedish writer and book collector Per-Erik Lindahl and Ludmilla Lindahl, are otherwise clean throughout. Complete with the original lightly rubbed, creased and nicked original dustwrapper which is toned to the spine which has a few short closed tears and tiny chips to the spine tips.

Inscribed by the author on the front free endpaper in sepia ink "Hilda / from / Robin / Because of / Golden Cape / and of the / poem that must / be written. / Charmouth / 15. April 1943.", additionally signed to the title page.
