First edition. Publisher's quarter off-white course cloth with titles printed in black on a white paper label to the spine, salmon pink paper covered boards. Pages uncut. An excellent better than very good copy, the binding square and firm, with spotting to the cloth and light toning to the printed label, the corners and top edges rubbed through in places. The contents, with foxing to the pastedowns and endpapers and the occasional light finger mark, are otherwise clean throughout and free from inscriptions or stamps.
Scarce. Despite being one of the few volumes of Crowley's poetry to receive critical acclaim, the book was a commercial disaster with only seven copies sold in the three years following first publication. It is likely that much of the 500 copy print-run was pulped.
