First French edition. Contemporary quarter dark green morocco over marbled boards with five raised bands and titles in gilt to the spine. Gilt to top edge. Marbled endpapers. Original orange card wrappers with titles printed in black bound in at the front and rear. A very good copy, the binding square and firm with a little rubbing to the extremities. The contents with a contemporary previous owner's ink signature to the front endpaper and toning to the page edges are otherwise clean throughout. An uncommon title.
Published in Berlin and London in the same year, this is the first French translation of the English title "Between Red & White: A Study of Some Fundamental Questions of Revolution, with Particular Reference to Georgia."
