A near fine set, the bindings square and firm, with light rubbing to the spine ends and corners, the cloth and gilt bright and fresh. The contents, with a small booksellers label to the bottom right corner of the front pastedown of volumes I, II and IV and a neat ownership inscription to top right corner of the front free endpaper of volume I, are otherwise clean throughout. Complete with the lightly rubbed and nicked dustwrappers, with uniform light toning to the spines, volume I with a short closed tear to the upper spine fold. Not price-clipped (30s. net to the front flaps). An attractive set of first editions.
