AUDIBLE SILENCE

First edition, first printing. Inscribed presentation copy from the author to Christopher Fry. Publisher's original white cloth with silver titles to the spine, in the author designed dustwrapper. A very good or better copy, the binding square and firm, the contents clean throughout and without previous owner's inscriptions or stamps. Complete with the lightly nicked dustwrapper which is a little toned to the panel edges. Not price-clipped (12s 6d net to the front flap). An excellent association copy.

Inscribed by the author in blue ink on the front endpaper "Christopher Fry / with good wishes / from / Laurence Whistler / Christmas 1961". Both poets were recipients of The Queen's Gold Medal for Poetry, Whistler the very first in 1934, Fry the year following this presentation, 1962.
