HOCKNEY PAINTS THE STAGE

First American edition, first printing. Signed by the author. Publisher's original yellow cloth with dark grey titles to the spine and upper board, in the illustrated dustwrapper featuring Hockney's 'Punchinello with Applause' (1980) to the front panel and photographic portrait of the artist to the rear. Illustrated in colour and black and white throughout. An excellent near fine copy, the binding square and firm, the cloth lightly marked along the bottom edge of the boards otherwise bright and fresh. The contents, with offsetting from the signature on the facing page, are otherwise clean throughout and free from inscriptions or stamps. Complete with the lightly creased dustwrapper that is faded to the spine and otherwise without loss or tears.
