PAUL: THE HERO OF THE FIRE

First edition, first printing. Publisher's original illustrated card boards, in dustwrapper. Beautifully illustrated throughout in colour by Edward Ardizzone. A near fine copy, the binding square and firm, the upper board very slightly bowed and ever so slightly nicked. The contents, with a few spots to the closed text block edge which occasionally bleed onto the edge of the margins, and light offsetting to the endpapers, are otherwise clean throughout and without stamps or inscriptions. Complete the lightly rubbed and nicked dustwrapper which has a few tiny closed tears to the edges and a shallow chip to the top edge of the rear panel. Not price-clipped (3/6 on the front flap). A bright and attractive example of a scarce title in dustwrapper.

A wonderful picture book about a boy who joins the circus then saves the day when a fire breaks out.
