First English edition, first printing. Two volumes. Publisher's original maroon cloth with titles in gilt to the spine. Page edges untrimmed. Floral patterned endpapers. Bookplate of Louis V. Ledoux (1880-1948, American poet and noted authority on Japanese prints) to the front pastedown of each volume. A near fine set, the bindings square and tight with a touch of fading to the spines. The contents with a little toning to the endpapers, the occasional mark to page margins and a few minor marks to the textblock edges are otherwise clean and bright throughout. An attractive set.
