First edition, first printing. Publisher's original red cloth with gilt titles to the spine, in the James Broom-Lynne illustrated dustwrapper. A very near fine copy, the binding square and firm, with the slightest rubbing at the extremities, the cloth bright and fresh. The contents are clean throughout and without inscriptions or stamps. There are a few tiny spots at the top edge of the closed text-block. Complete with the lightly rubbed and price-clipped dustwrapper that has a touch of toning to the spine.

The eleventh and penultimate volume in the author's 'A Dance To The Music of Time' series, of which 12,000 copies of the first edition were printed. (Lilley A21a).
