A very good or better copy, the binding square and firm with some slight rubbing and bumping at the top edges. There is some spotting to the closed text-block edge, the contents are otherwise clean throughout and without previous owners' stamps or inscriptions. Complete with the lightly rubbed and creased dustwrapper which has a 1cm closed tear to the bottom edge of the front panel. Not price-clipped (£4.95 on the front flap). Scarce.

Inscribed by the author in black ink on the title page 'For Brian Stableford / the future society, / I hope / A. E. Van Vogt'. Brian Stableford was a prolific writer and critic of science fiction and horror literature who wrote positively of van Vogt's work. A future-Earth novel involving computer-run anarchy and alien conquest.
