THE EMPTY SPACE

First edition, first printing. Original pink cloth with gilt lettering to the spine, in dustwrapper. A fine, bright, tight and square copy, the lilac topstain unfaded, the contents clean and without marks or inscriptions. The dustwrapper remains bright and complete, though a little rubbed to the top of the spine and the outer corners. There's a 3' (wide) x 1' (deep) area to the lower front panel where the laminate has peeled away (though remaining attached). Not price-clipped and correctly priced (30s. net) to the front flap. Scarce in such good shape.

Adapted from the inaugural Granada Northern lectures, "The Empty Space" rapidly became a classic of theatre writing (it is, in fact, now part of the "Penguin Modern Classics" list).
