First UK edition, first printing. Original blur cloth lettered in gilt to the spine, in dustwrapper. A very near fine copy, the binding square and firm, the cloth and gilt sharp, the conbtents clean throughout. In the bright, near fine dustwrapper, showing just a touch of rippling and some light shelf wear. Not price-clipped (18s net to the front flap). A nice copy.

Theodore Roethke completed the 'The Far Field' just before his death in 1963. Published in the US the following year, in March 1965 it was winner of the National Book Award for poetry.
