First combined edition. Publisher's original blue cloth with gilt titles to the spine, in the Star Services illustrated dustwrapper. A near fine copy, the binding square and firm, with light bumping to the spine ends and a little fading to the cloth along the top edge of the boards and spine. The contents, with the usual toning of the poor quality paper stock and a few light marks to the bottom edge of the closed text block, are otherwise clean throughout and without inscriptions or stamps. Complete with the lightly rubbed and creased, price-clipped dustwrapper, that is ever so slightly faded to the spine.

The first collected edition of Adams's four Hitch Hikers books, originally published separately in paperback and later in hardcover. This omnibus also includes 'A Guide to the Guide' and 'How to Leave the Planet'.
