THE LAUNCHING OF ROGER BROOK

First edition, first printing. Inscribed presentation copy. Publisher's original black cloth with gilt titles to the spine, in dustwrapper. Undated, as issued, with 'sorsque' instead of 'forsque' on the front panel of the dustwrapper and the subsequent explanation of this on the front flap marking it as a first edition. Coloured map front endpapers. A very good or better copy, the binding firm and square, the cloth and gilt fresh. The contents, with light spotting to the endpapers and closed text block edge are otherwise clean throughout. Complete with the lightly rubbed and nicked dustwrapper that has a tiny chip at the base of the spine but is otherwise without loss or tears. Not price clipped (12s. 6d. net to the front flap).

Inscribed by the author in blue ink on the title page "For / H. F. Fuller / With kindest thoughts / and remembrances from / his old friend / Dennis Wheatley". The first Roger Brook title and Wheatley's first historical novel.
