THE NATURAL HISTORY OF SELBORNE

Reprint. Beautifully bound by Riviere in half dark green morocco over light green cloth boards, ruled in gilt. The spine with five raised bands, gilt titles and compartments wonderfully decorated in gilt with sinuous trees and foliage, as well as birds, butterflies and a rabbit. Top edge gilt. Marbled endpapers. Profusely illustrated throughout in black and white. An almost near fine copy, the binding square, firm and bright with wear to the corners and a little rubbing to the extremities. The contents with slight toning to page edges are otherwise clean throughout and free from any previous owners' inscriptions or stamps.

A superb, whimsically bound copy of White's classic, pioneering work of natural history.
