THE GREEN MILE

First UK editions, first printings. Complete in six parts. Paperback originals. All volumes are in the publisher's original card covers. Each with a black and white frontispiece by Mark Geyer. A near fine set, the bindings firms, each volume very slightly rubbed at the corners and spine tips. The contents are clean and bright throughout and without stamps or inscriptions.

Stephen King's magical realism novel 'The Green Mile' was serialised in small chapbooks between March and August 1996, simultaneously in the UK and US, and published in one volume in May 1997. The serialised format appealed to King, who liked the idea of having a responsibility to finish the novel once the first instalment was published, and of the reader not being able to read ahead and spoil the suspense. It formed the basis for the 1999 Academy Award nominated film of the same name starring Tom Hanks.
