A collection of 18 speculative short stories, including 'The Veldt', 'Kaleidoscope', 'The Long Rain' and 'The Last Night of the World'. The book was nominated for the 1952 International Fantasy Award in the 'fiction' category and was the basis for the 1969 film of the same name, starring Rod Steiger and Claire Bloom.
