A very near fine copy, the binding square and firm, the cloth and gilt sharp, the contents clean throughout. Very minor bump to the upper spine tip. Delany's first novel, written when he was nineteen, first appeared in 1962, in an abridged form, as an Ace Double paperback original (F-173; together with Second Ending by James White). This 1968 Gollancz edition was the first appearance of the complete novel, and the first hardback edition.
