First edition, first printing. Signed by the author. Collector's edition. Original green cloth with gilt titles to the spine, in the Paul Lehr illustrated dustwrapper. With a colour frontispiece by Lehr. There is a folding map loosely laid in. A near fine copy, the binding square and firm. There is some light spotting to the closed text-block edge, the contents are otherwise clean throughout and without previous owners' stamps or inscriptions. The map has a small area of light spotting. Complete with the lightly rubbed dustwrapper that is a touch toned to the spine and spotted to the underside (showing on the right side on the rear flap only). Not price-clipped ($30 on the front flap). Housed in the fine original slipcase.

Issued in a limited edition of 500 copies, this example is numbered 76 and signed by Larry Niven in blue ink on the limitation page. The first sequel to Niven's 1970 Nebula, Hugo and Locus Award winning science-fiction novel 'Ringworld'.
