PROPERTIES AND METROLOGY OF SURFACES

First edition. Publisher's original blue cloth boards, with gilt titling to the spine, complete with pictorial dustwrapper. Illustrated throughout with black and white illustrations and diagrams. A better than very good copy, the cloth boards slightly faded around the edges, with some light scratching to both panels. Lightly bumped to the spine ends, the binding tight and square. The contents, with a previous owners stamp on the front free endpaper are otherwise clean throughout. Complete with a very good dustwrapper that is rubbed and nicked around the edges and fold corners, with a short closed tear to the top of the rear panel.

Details the proceedings of the International Conference organised by the institution at Oxford in April 1968, which covered subjects such as the economics of machining, workshop methods, instrumentation and standardisation to name a few. 'To this end the Oxford Conference was held in order to bring together people representing all aspects of the various industrial needs, people from research, those who shape the material and use the devices, and those who are faced on purely economic grounds with deciding what finish is expedient or justified' - blurb.
