Issued in a limited edition of 500 copies of which this example is numbered 68 and signed by Neal Stephenson in blue ink on the limitation page. There was also an edition of 26 lettered copies in a green leather solander box. The first hardcover edition of an early (1988) science thriller written by Neal Stephenson long before 'Snow Crash' brought him international recognition.
