First edition, first printing. Signed by the author. Original green cloth with red foil titles to the spine, in the Mike Dringenberg illustrated dustwrapper. A fine copy, the binding square and tight, the contents clean and bright throughout, the top of the closed text-block edge with a few tiny, faint spots. Complete with the fine original dustwrapper that is free from fading, loss or tears. Not price-clipped ($35 on the front flap).

Signed by Charles de Lint in black ink on a dedicated page bound in before the half title. A previously unpublished high fantasy novel completed in 1980, which de Lint abandoned after being advised by his publisher to choose between high fantasy and contemporary fantasy. De Lint chose the latter, and went on to become a pioneer of the urban fantasy genre.
