First edition, first printing. Inscribed presentation copy from the author to his sister. Publisher's original red cloth with gilt titles to the spine, in dustwrapper. A very good or better copy, the binding square and firm, the contents with some spotting to the margins throughout. Complete with the rubbed and nicked original dustwrapper which has several short closed tears and some tiny chips at the extremities. Not price-clipped (6s net to the upper front flap).

Inscribed by the author to his sister in black ink on the front endpaper "Peggy / With love from Hal / May 1947". The author's second poetry collection.
