'The Grace of Kings' is Liu's first novel, the first title in the 'Dandelion Dynasty' series and winner of the Locus Award for Best First Novel. 'Dandelion Dynasty' is an epic fantasy series with science fiction elements that draws on East Asian culture, history and folklore in its world-building and utilises a form of technology that Liu had dubbed 'silkpunk'.
