A very good copy, the binding square and firm with a little bumping at the spine tips and corners of the partially faded boards. Inscribed by the author on the front free endpaper "For Lawrence Binyon / P. R. Kaikini / Khar / Bombay 21 July 1940". The English poet and dramatist Lawrence Binyon is perhaps best remembered for his poetical requiem to the casualties of WW1, "For the Fallen", that was later to be set to music by Edward Elgar and become part of his "The Spirit of England".
