First illustrated edition, first printing. Signed by the author. Publisher's beige paper covered boards and brown cloth spine, in dustwrapper and slipcase. Illustrated by John Lawrence in colour and black and white throughout. With a colour folding map at the rear. An excellent near fine copy, the binding square and firm, the cloth bright and fresh with a small white mark at the base of the spine. The contents are clean throughout and without previous owners' marks. Complete with the lightly rubbed and nicked dustwrapper has a short closed tear with associated creasing at the lower front flap fold and light toning to the spine. Not price-clipped (£8.75 net to the front flap). Housed in the fine original pictorial slipcase which is very lightly rubbed to the corners.
