First edition, first printing. Original duotone grey cloth with titles in red and black to the spine and upper board. No dustwrapper. Illustrated colour map endpapers. Illustrated with black and white photographs throughout. A very good copy, the binding firm, the cloth clean and slightly rubbed at the extremities. The contents, with some light spotting to the prelims and closed text-block edge, are otherwise clean and without stamps or inscriptions.

An autobiography of Major General Francis Arthur Sutton who became known as 'One-Arm Sutton' after losing part of his arm at the Battle of Gallipoli. Sutton's adventures range from Mexico to China and see him panning for gold in Siberia, selling shoes in Russia and becoming adviser to the Chinese warlord Zhang Zuolin.
